Play Date

Today Claire and Addy had a play date with my friend Erin and her two children Taylor and Cole. I love that so many of my friends have children the same age as ours. Claire and Taylor had the best time. We started out with a picnic in our backyard (I love having a BIG back yard), played with bikes, and ended the day with some time with Claire's play kitchen. Wow how things have changes. Erin and I used to go to coffee and shop. Now we make coffee and chase kids. It was such a great time and Claire and Addy were wiped out.

Oak Glen

Sunday we went to Oak Glen apple picking. This is something that Matt used to do as a child that we decided to pass along to our children. We started going when Claire was about 9 months old. Usually we go in November but this year we decided to go in October hoping to see some fall festivities. We also decided to have our good friends the Bennett's go (they have two girls the same age as ours). Much to our surprise it was totally crowded so we could not do very many things. We did however pick loads of apples. They are so yummy! overall is was a great day. The girls had a fun time and so did we. I think we will go again in November when it is a little cooler and not as crowded.

Thanks Auntie Jane!

Today we got the cutest package from Claire and Addy's Auntie Jane (aka Auntie Janie). She sent spider hair ties, witch hair ties, and talking pumpkins. Since Addy does not have hair yet we put both spiders in Claire's hair. It was so funny. Oh.... and by the way she will not let me put hair things in her hair so the spiders were a first. They were so darn cute we had so share with everyone. Below are pictures for you all to see. Addy was sleeping so we only have pics of Claire. Thanks Auntie Jane!

"Oh I love these pumpkins so much!"

"look at the spiders in my hair!"
Are these funny or what?

Here I come world!!!!!

HERE I COME WORLD!!!

Addison just turned 8 months old on the 19th. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. Things have gotten easier in the sense that she is eating solid foods, she is starting to communicate more, and most of all she is able to play with Claire (this makes having a little sister all worth it for Claire. They just love each other). Some things are also more difficult.... she screams when she wants something (not crys but screams), and she has started to discover that she wants to move on her own (she has places to go and people to see). Addy is now standing holding on to things and is on all fours ready to crawl. Baby gates here we come AGAIN!!!. I cannot imagine what life will bring with two little people in things and running away from me!!! AHHHHHHHH!

Oh, one more thing.... Addy started saying MaMa. Yeah!!!

Pumkin Picking

Sunday we went pumpkin picking. It was really fun. They had pumpkin picking, hay rides, a petting zoo, vegetable picking, and a corn maze. Claire liked picking the green beans the best. We just hope she likes eating them as much as picking them.

This is defiantly something we will do every year. The girls had a great time!

Buddy Walk

Saturday morning we met some of my best friends from high school (Gina and Jana) down in San Diego for the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk. We went to support my friend Gina's daughter Lily who is one of the most adorable little girls I have ever seen. We had so much fun catching up with Gina and Jana and there families. It has been so long since we have been together. The girls had a great time dancing, laughing, and being spoiled rotten from all of the DeNisi clan. It was such a great day. I hope we can get together again soon.

We had such a great day. I love that my girls are friends with my friends children. It is so fun!

Born Travelers

People keep asking me how the flight was to Vail? I am glad to report that the girls are natural born travelers. Addy slept both ways and Claire entertained herself with coloring, snacks, and chatting with the people around us (she is so darn social). They were both so great!

If you look closely in the picture you will notice the girls are holding hands. I took this picture right after we took off. Claire was comforting Addy like she travels ALL the time. It was so cute. It is moments like these that I am thankful that I had children so close together. They LOVE each other. It is so darn cute.

Vail

We had a great trip to Vail last weekend with Matt's family. It was so beautiful. Claire and Addy had a great time visiting with there cousins. Below are some great pics.

Claire ice skating for the first time. She cried because she wanted to do it "all herself".

The girls fought over Papa all weekend.

Fall Pictures

This year I decided that I wanted to do Fall pictures of the girls. We had not had any professional pictures taken of Addy yet so I thought fall pictures were the ticket. It turns out that Addy was sick for the pictures but I still did them anyway. They turned out so cute. They are wearing the cutest matching pumpkin colored Halloween shirts (thanks Cat).Addy cried through most of them and Claire was a little model. I cannot believe they turned out so cute. Here is a sneak peak of a few of them.

On another note little Addy has started talking a little bit. She says "that", "Dad Dad", and "more". Go figure that her first word was "that". She is always asking for Claire to get her "that" toy. So cute.
Claire is completely potty trained. YEAH!!!!!! We are even waking up with dry pants at nap time and night time.

We are off to Vail tomorrow for a visit with Matt's brother and family and Mimi and Papa. Wish us luck with the flight. It is Addys first flight and we all know how active Claire is. We are so excited. Claire loves to visit her cousins. We will take lots of pictures. Have a great weekend.

Happy Monday

It has been an intersting week to say the least. It all started when Addy was running a slight fever last Wednesday. No big deal right? She was getting new teeth and had a slight cold (for the second time in two weeks) so it seemed normal to have a sligth fever. She was still eating well and playing. Then Wednesday afternoon she seemed a bit tired so I put her in her bouncy chair heard a strange noice and turned to see Addy having a seizure. I FREAKED out. She would not respond and her lips were starting to turn purple. I waited for the shaking to stop, grabbed both girls threw them in the car. In the mean time I called Matt and ordered him to come home. By the time both girls were in the car he was home. We went straight to the ER. On out way there Addy fell asleep and I could not wake her. By the time we got to the ER she woke up. They got us right in and ran a TON of tests. Both girls were so brave! Three hours later they could not find a problem but gave her a antibiotic shot until all tests were back We went home Addy seemes totally normal. I was up all night switching from Tylenol and Advil every three hours (per doctors orders) just so the fever would not return. The next day we went to the doctor again but the test results were not back yet. All seemed normal so we stopped the fever meds. Saturday we got a call from the doc to find that the only thing wrong was that her white cell count was high and therefore he concluded that she had Febrile Seizures. Come to find out that 1 in every 25 children get these. They grow out of them by the time they are 5 and you never know when they come. They cause no harm but could mean infection. What now? We are very cautious when she gets a fever and give her fever reducers right away and of she has a seizure again back to the ER. It was sooooo scary! And I hope she never has one again. Today she is doing great! I pray for no more sick children for awhile.

On a happier note we had a great weekend. Addy and Claire spent Saturday with Matts parents (Mimi and Papa) and had a great time. They were so tired when they got home.

Sunday we went to a childrens book fair with some friends. There were story times, train rides, face painting and more. It was really cute.

Hope you have a great week!
