A Lesson Learned

Yesterday I was at the grocery store picking up a few things for dinner and Claire came up to me in line and asked if she could buy Mentos Candy. I replied "no, we are not getting any candy today." and asked her to put them back. She turned around and walked back to put the candy back. The next thing I knew she was standing next to me with her mouth open. I looked and there was a Mentos candy in it. I said, "Claire where did you get that?" She replied, "Mom, I just took one and put the rest back". I quickly told her to get the candy that she took one out of so that I could pay for it. Made her apologize to the checker at the store for stealing (she must have been a Mom because she thought it was so funny. THANK GOD!). And took the candy away. I could not believe it! My little girl stole! When we got to the car I asked her why she did that? She replied, "But mom I LOVE those candies" She looked so serious and confused. It was classic! When we got home she got a lesson on stealing and a time out. Hopefully that is the last time we have to deal with that.

Who invented these little shopping carts?

I will tell you one thing they did not have kids? Claire has just discovered that they have these carts at Trader Joe's. If you try to sneak in without giving her one within five minutes an employee will bring one over. I hate them! It is hard enough to manage two kids and get my shopping done. It is really hard to shop, watch two kids, and make sure that Claire does not run into anything or anyone. By the end of the trip I am wiped out. I am sure of one thing the inventor of these did not have kids. Cute? Yes. Functional? No

Fun with Cousins

We have had two weeks of pure fun with two sets of cousins in town. We started out with Matt's brother and family. It was so much fun to have them around. They have two little girls that just celebrated there 4th birthday. The girls all get along great and love to play together. We had a busy weeks with Disneyland trips, beach trips, and lots of swimming. It was a blast.

As soon as they left my sister and family came. We were busy with another Disneyland trip, swimming, boating, and lots of playing. It had been a great few weeks and are sad it is all coming to an end.

4th of July

4th of July weekend was full of fun for us this year. We started the weekend off with a neighborhood block party of Friday the 3rd. It was full of fun with a bounce house, slides, face painting, parade and much more. It was a great way to start of the weekend.

Saturday the 4th we were joined by Matts brother and family from Colorado. It was alot of fun to have all of the kids together. We started the day with another party at Matts parents neighborhood then came to our house for a BBQ. It was fun to have everyone in town for some summer fun. (Sorry I don't have pics from the 4th I could not find my camara).
