PARK DAY

Today I tried out a new park with the girls. We packed a picnic lunch, loaded on the sunscreen, and off we went to enjoy the 85 degree weather. The girls had a blast. The park was huge and loaded with kids. Both girls really enjoyed it and are super tired. Hopefully they take a good nap!

LOOK AT THIS HUGE SLIDE. CLAIRE MUST HAVE GONE ON IT 50 TIMES.

Sorry for all the blogs at one time but I needed to catch up. I hope you all enjoy!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

UPDATE ON THE GIRLS

I cannot believe that the girls are almost one and three. I thought that this would be a good time to give an update on each of the girls.

CLAIRE:
Claire will be three on March third. I cannot believe it! She is really excited for her birthday and is actually having a hard time being able to celebrate other peoples birthday because she wants it to be hers.

Claire is talking up a storm. She is so bright and has the most amazing vocabulary (I know every Mom thinks there kids are bright but really I think that she got my Dads smarts and is really intelligent). She has also become a really good helper with everything. She loves to help with cleaning and anything having to do with her sister. She also LOVES to cook. I try to cook with her alot because I know it is really good for her and she enjoys it.

Claire still had a ton of energy but is beginning to be able to use it in the right way. She is super athletic (due to her Dad) and loves to be outside doing anything active. This is great because it makes her still nap at almost three. She still takes a good 2-3 hour nap. (thank GOD!).

Claire is starting school in September which she is really excited. We have her on the waiting list at Good Shepherd (my church since childhood) and pray that she is able to get in for the fall. We also signed her up for her first drop off dance class which starts on her birthday. Both Claire and I are really excited about it.

Matt and I are truly enjoying this age with Claire. Although it is full of tantrums it is also full of joy and laughter. We love to see what a fantastic big sister she is to Addy and look forward to the years ahead.

ADDISON:
Miss Addy will be one on February 19th. WOW! I feel like I just had her.

Addy is finally becoming a good sleeper again (she slept through the night until 6 months then became a terrible sleeper). I am so thankful that she is getting better. I think she is sleeping better because she is super busy. She is a crawling and climbing machine. She is not walking yet but is super close.

Addy is an all around happy baby. She is learning so much right now. She loves Lego's and anything small that she can put in her hands. She also loves to be outside and especially loves the swings. She is a BIG eater and will eat just about anything. She is a HUGE fan of her sister and wants to do everything Claire is doing. It is so cute.

I am so thankful that Addy is almost one. First of all because I am almost done nursing (YES! I made it a year!!!) and second because the girls are starting to be able to play together. I LOVE IT! This year had been hard but now I see why we did it so close.

I am really thankful that I have been able to be home with the girls and would not trade it for the anything.

I thought that this was so cute of the girls putting on Princess crowns.

Great Grandma's Birthday

Last Saturday we sent to my Moms house to celebrate my Grandmas birthday. I love that my children are able to know who my grandma is and that she is totally with it to enjoy my children. I got some great pictures of my Grandma Kirkeby with Claire. It was a crazy night with cranky kids but we still had a good time.

I'm Back!

Sorry I have not posted in so long. We have all had a terrible cold then I got the stomach flu. We should all be good now for awhile (at least I hope!).

Things have been crazy around here for a few weeks. Matt has been super busy at work and we have all been sick and stuck inside. There has been alot of meltdowns and a few time-outs. Hey, that what happens when you are two and don't get out of the house to burn energy. The other day Claire was sent to her room for a time-out and I went in after a few minutes to talk about what she had done and why she was in a time out. I found her completely dressed and clothes everywhere. I was so proud of her for getting dressed alone (and somewhat matching) that I just laughed and hugged her. To top it all off she had put her Mini Mouse shirt on because Matt told her that if she was helpful at home we may be able to go to Disneyland when he got home. I did not have the heart to tell her that it was raining outside. It was so darn cute!!! (See the pics below!).

Hope everyone is well. I will try to post alot this week.

Welcome Obama!

This morning I was watching television trying to explain to Claire who Barack Obama was and what a president was. I told her that "he is the person in charge of making decisions for the United States where we live." ( how do you explain this to a almost 3 year old). She looks at me and says, "kind of like you Mommy." I said, "exactly!" I tried so hard not to laugh and decided to keep it at that.

I will try and be better about blogging this week. We have all been sick with a terrible cold and are just getting over it. I hate flu season!!!

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Summer in January

What do you do when it is 85 degrees in the middle of January? Put on your bathing suit and get wet, of course.

I found this weather the perfect opportunity to put on our bathing suits and get a little energy out by playing on the slide and ball pit. The girls had a blast and they were wiped out. They both took a three hour nap. YEAH!

I am sure they are totally confused but it was fun anyway. I do however hope that it gets cold again. I hate this weather.

Christmas @ DISNEYLAND

My Dad bought us another season pass for Disneyland for Christmas this year so we thought that we would go see the last day of the Christmas parade a few weeks ago (sorry, I have not had time to upload the pics). We had such a great time. It was super crowded but the girls still had a great time. They both loved the Christmas parade. They did not move through the entire thing. It was so much fun and something we will do every year. It was a great way too end the holiday season.

Today is Matt BIG 35! We celebrated last night with the girls by having cake and ice cream and opening presents. Tonight my Mom is taking the girls and we are going out on a date. YEAH! I am not sure if he is more excited or I am. A night away!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND!!!! We hope it is a great one!

Kastelic Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas at our house this year. As you all know Claire and Addy (mainly Claire) have been so excited for Christmas this year and could barley wait for the day to arrive. My sister and her family came from up north for Christmas which was really fun. They have three kids and the little one is three which is perfect for Claire. They had such a great time.

We hosted Christmas eve at our house. It was really fun but a lot of work. I now have a new appreciation for the holiday dinners my parents put on.

Christmas morning the girls were surprised by Santa by getting a new playhouse for the backyard. I took a picture but it did not turn out great. Claire also got a scooter which she has been asking Santa for for months. She was thrilled. As always the girls were spoiled by Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles with a ton of new things. Thank you to all for all the nice things!

We have been really blessed the past year with the arrival of Miss Addy and by Claire the best big sister ever. We are so thankful for all that we have and look forward to the new year ahead. Hopefully it is a better one for the stock market (FINGERS CROSSED!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
