The other night Claire asked Matt if he could help her write a letter to Santa. He wrote down word for word what she said and it read....
Santa,
This is from Claire and I love you Santa. A twinkly star, a triangle, and a flower. I want a big girl bike. A Tinker Bell one. I put my food away, and have been a good girl. And Addy too.
Love you Santa,
Claire
A few days later we went to the mall to visit Santa and he asked, "Claire, what do you want for Christmas this year?" She looked at him with a blank stare and said, "didn't you get the letter I wrote?
Nothing gets past this kid!

Little Miss Addy
The other night I was on the computer and Addy came up to me and handed me the camera and said, "Mommy take my picture." then proceeded to pose. Here are the pictures we came up with. She is such a little ham. (BTW please excuse the very messy outfit. This was following coloring before dinner then dinner. You will notice it is all over her. Needless to say the photo session was followed by a bath)

I'm Back!!!
Sorry that I have not posted in so long. We have been busy here at the Kastelic home. Wow, I never knew how many people were reading this until I started getting phone calls about how I have not been updating lately. Well here goes......
Last Tuesday Claire had her Christmas program at her preschool. She goes to a religious preschool so they have been doing so many fun Christmas things. Claire loves it! The kids had been learning a handful of Christmas songs to sing at the program. It was so cute. They were all so proud (So was Mommy and Daddy).

Halloween
This Halloween was a blast. Both girls were really excited about trick or treating this year. Claire was Cinderella and Addy was a dog. I thought that this was the last year that I could choose what Addy was but I was wrong. It turns out that she really wanted to be Cinderellas like her sister (who would have known?). She kept telling people that she was going to be "Cinderrrelllla". I felt so bad but once I put the dog costume on she was happy. (she will still tell you she was Cinderella). The girls looked so cute.
We had friend of ours the Bennett's over for the fun. They have girls the same age as ours so it is always fin to get together. There two girls (Peyton and Logan) were Michigan cheerleaders and they were so darn cute.
The girls all had a blast and got loads of candy. Addy only lasted a few blocks but had fun helping me pass put candy. Claire would have gone on all night.
After being up until 10:30pm and loads of candy the girls wiped. It was a great day. We look forward to the years ahead!

Trunk or Treat
Last Friday bight our church held its annual Trunk or Treat. The girls had so much fun. They had a really cute party with games, crafts, and treats and ended the night with trunk or treating (trick or treating out of car trunks). It was a great way to start the weekend festivities.

School Party
Today I picked Claire up from school and saw this..........
Her hair was spray painted and her face was panted. I cracked up! One of the teachers spray painted her hair and she did the face paint. Hopefully it comes out!

What does Daddy do with a house full of girls?
A tea party of course!
Saturday night Claire came up to Matt with an envelope and said it was an invitation to her tea party. He said, "what should I wear?" she paused and said, "work clothes would be fine." Matt went upstairs and put a tie, coat, dress pants and shoes. Claire and Addy were thrilled. It was so cute. What a great Daddy.

Proud Parent Moment
Every Tuesday and Thursday when I pick Claire up from School I get a report from her teacher on how the day went. Today when I picked her up her teacher told me that she had a great day and was a great friend. She explained that there was another little girl that has been having trouble getting used to school and today that little girl forgot her sharing and was very upset and that Claire went up to her and gave her the sharing that she brought. This in turn left Claire no sharing which she was ok with. I felt like such a proud parent at that moment. I could not believe that my 3 1/2 year old was so concerned of anothers feelings that she would go the extra mile to help her out. I praised Claire like no other all day long (so did her teacher). It's days like this that I feel so proud to be a parent and it makes up for all those hard days.

Fun Filled Weekend
This past weekend we had one of Matt's good friends from collage Ben and his wife and son come to visit us from Dallas. We had a blast to say the least. We had three full days of fun. They arrived late Friday night. Saturday we started the morning off with a hot air balloon ride at the Great Park, then headed to the pumpkin patch then to the beach for a picnic and some water fun.
Sunday was Vanesa and Luke's birthday and we were off to Disneyland. We arrived first thing in the morning and stayed until the fireworks. What a day! We must have hit almost everything at the park. It was a blast.
Monday we eased into the day with a big breakfast and then off to the balboa fun zone. Later in the day Vanesa ans I decided for a little Mommy time and headed out for shopping and a movie. it was so much fun to have girls time.
Tuesday was the end of the fun festivities. We were sad to see them go and hope to see them again soon.
We got some great pictures below. Beware there are a ton! Luke and Claire best buds!

First Day of School
Today was Claire's first day of Preschool. She was so excited! She was up bright and early and was so excited to head off to school. When I dropped her off she ran in her class looked back at me and said; "bye Mom". I think I was more nervous then she was. When she was at school Addy kept saying, " mama, where is sissy?" she was sad not have her buddy there. I think once she gets used to it she may kind of like the alone time.
I got there a little eary to pick her up and had the chance to see her playing on the playground. She was running from activity to activity like she was going to run out of time. I could tell she was loving it. When I walked in her class to pick her up , she yelled, "Mom, I LOVED it!" It was so cute. She told me all about her day at school on the way home. It was a great day!!! I cannot believe my baby started school.

Addison Baptism
We had a busy weekend with my Dad in town and Addison's baptism on Sunday. We had a great weekend with the exception of Addison getting virus from Friday to Saturday and then me catching it Sunday night. Thank goodness somehow we were all well for the baptism.

Popsicles
This summer the girls have discovered that they LOVE Popsicles. I think that Addy will go to the freezer about 5 times a day and say, "I have Pop-pi-pole". It is so cute. I found these new "mini pops" that are about a quarter of the size of regular Popsicles and they are "slow melt". They are the best! (not shown in these pics). These is truly nothing better than a nice cold Popsicle on a hot day.

Water Babies
I had mentioned in one of my previous posts that Matt and I had put Claire in private swim lessons for the summer. She goes two times a week for 30 minutes. We cannot believe how much she has learned. She has gone from not swimming at ALL to swimming with her head under the water, using arms and feet, and learning how to dive. It is amazing!
